Happy New Year. School restarts on Monday 8th January 2018

Just before we broke up was a very busy time for us in Halfway.

ECO – We were delighted to be judged and awarded the prestigious ECO (Platinum Level Green Flag). This was in recognition of all the hard work to transform the school’s daily routine into one that benefits the environment, saves money and improves the school’s surroundings. The teachers and other staff have been ensuring education for sustainability is incorporated right across the school, with the associated benefits to pupil’s learning, wellbeing and confidence.

Cup Cakes – over 800 children from Llanelli Schools participated in the Jenkins Bakeries design a Cup Cake Competition. The over all winner was one of our pupils with a number of children also being highly commended for their work.

Christmas Concerts – Thank you to all of the children who participated in our Christmas Concerts. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who also attended to support us.

Cinema Visit – As the end of year treat years 1-6 visited the Odeon Cinema in LLanelli. Although there was a slight change of plan to the film that we should have seen. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their outstanding behaviour.

Choir – Not only performing in the school concerts but they have been out and about in the local community singing in a joint choir in the Dafen Carnival, entertaining local pensioners and singing in Dafen Church. Thank you for all who took part.

Retirement – Good luck to Mrs Nicholas who retired at the end of term. I would like to thank her for all her hard work and her contribution to Halfway School. Miss Young will be teaching in the Reception Class until the end of the academic year.
