This is the communication from County that I have been told to send out:
Dear Parent / Guardian,
I have recently been informed that an individual in Year 6 has tested positive for COVID-19. We would like to reassure you that there is no immediate cause for concern and provide you with as much information as possible.
We are working closely with Carmarthenshire County Council and NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect (TTP), and are following all the advice and guidance provided to us.
Pupils and staff members of Year 6 have been identified as potentially coming into close contact with the individual that has tested positive. We are requesting that pupils and staff members of Year 6 stay at home tomorrow (02/10/2020) as a precaution until provided with instruction that they are able to return to school. The TTP Team are contacting individual parent to confirm whether a period of self-isolation is required for 14 days.
If your child is required to self-isolate, everyone else in the household can continue as normal (however if your child becomes symptomatic, the whole household would then need to self-isolate).
I will now be contacting Year 6 families.

Dear Parent/Carer – Annwyl Riant/Gofalwr,
Here at Halfway School we pride ourselves on offering a caring, safe and happy environment for your child. We strive to ensure that children have access to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, through varied learning opportunities and experiences. Halfway children are encouraged to become independent and creative learners, taking responsibility for their own learning and making informed choices.
We believe it is important to build strong partnerships with everyone involved in our school community and therefore place a great emphasis in developing relationships with parents, carers and families.
Our school motto is ‘Learning Together, Growing Together’, which we feel underpins the ethos of our school and the great team of teachers and support staff who guide the children to achieve their best, in an ever-changing world.
If you would like to visit our school or you have any questions, please get in touch.
Yma yn Ysgol Halfway rydym yn ymfalchïo mewn cynnig amgylchedd gofalgar, diogel a hapus i’ch plentyn. Rydym yn ymdrechu i sicrhau bod gan blant fynediad at gwricwlwm eang, cytbwys a pherthnasol, trwy gyfleoedd a phrofiadau dysgu amrywiol. Anogir plant hanner ffordd i ddod yn ddysgwyr annibynnol a chreadigol, gan gymryd cyfrifoldeb am eu dysgu eu hunain a gwneud dewisiadau gwybodus.
Credwn ei bod yn bwysig adeiladu partneriaethau cryf gyda phawb sy’n ymwneud â chymuned ein hysgol ac felly rhoi pwyslais mawr ar ddatblygu perthnasoedd â rhieni, gofalwyr a theuluoedd.
Arwyddair ein hysgol yw ‘Dysgu Gyda’n Gilydd, Tyfu Gyda’n Gilydd’, yr ydym yn teimlo sy’n sail i ethos ein hysgol a’r tîm gwych o athrawon a staff cymorth sy’n tywys y plant i gyflawni eu gorau, mewn byd sy’n newid yn barhaus.
Os hoffech ymweld â’n hysgol neu os oes gennych unrhyw gwestiynau, cysylltwch â ni.
Best Wishes/Dymyniadau Gorau
Thanks for you support and patience and we hope you are all well!
Miss Thomas and Halfway Staff. 😃
